If I had started this project on New Year’s Day as I was supposed to, this would be my last post. As it is, it is number 356, so I have 9 more to go. So, it’s New Year’s Eve and I wish you all everything you would wish for yourself – and then some more

Almost missed posting this tonight, totally absorbed watching the cricket in Australia (hurrah for us!) Now we have retained the Ashes, I can go to bed and have an early night for a change – well almost, it’s 1am – we have been staying up very late to watch it
This was ice that formed on the garden table, now thankfully thawed.
Ten minutes or so after yesterday’s sunrise, this is what the same view looked like. Still, beautiful and quite eerie. It came out pretty well for an iPhone shot. We spent Christmas Day with friends in Somerset. I was woken this morning by a strange glow shining through the blinds in the bedroom. I looked out and watched a beautiful sunrise, shining through the mist and reflecting off the snow. It was absolutely magical. I only had my iPhone to hand so I took photographs with that and they came out surprisingly well. Click to enlarge….
This is what the footpaths and some of the roads near my house are like at the moment – sheets of ice. I had a scary car-sliding-backwards-and-sideways-into-a-bush moment yesterday. We are driving to a friend’s house for Christmas Day tomorrow. In her words the roads are ‘icy and dicey’. Wish me luck and have a wonderful day whatever you are doing. Be safe and have fun
