This is my favourite bit of bookbinding ‘kit’. It’s called a Japanese screw punch. I love it because it is beautifully made and it works like a dream. You can buy different size bits for the end and it happily punches its way through paper, board, fabric and leather. You can buy it at my favourite bookbinding supplies store Shepherds (formerly Falkiners) in the UK.

  1. Sounds like a piece of equipment I need! =) I do love tools and gadgets. Besides, it really does sound useful. I’ll have to try and find it here though as the shipping cost from Shepherds would be prohibitive.
