I went to stay with my sister and her husband last weekend. They live up in the very north of Shropshire. This is part of the Shropshire Union Canal, very popular with holiday makers who hire these narrowboats and cruise the 60 mile long canal from Wolverhampton to Ellesmere Port, it also connects with other canals in the system. It was the last canal to be built by Thomas Telford, completed in 1835.
