About 15 years ago, my ex organised an exhibition called ‘Cultural Ties’. Over 160 artists were approached and asked them to design a tie which would then be reproduced in silk and sold in a limited edition. A percentage of the profits was donated to UNICEF for clean water projects. The 150 artists whose ties were made, included such names as the Chapman Brothers, Louise Bourgeois, Jeff Koons, Richard Long and Sir Peter Blake. This one was a concept by Andrew Logan a sculptor, jewellery maker and designer, and I was given it as an birthday present by my ex. It’s a sort of glass mosaic but you could actually wear it as a tie as it has a pin at the knot. I love it.
