Oh my goodness, you are making me drool…scones I can make, and even strawberry jam; it’s harder to find clotted cream here though.
I do have a very soft spot for the ‘cream tea’ – can’t make scones but love eating them π
Scones are easy to make…I have a nice recipe for one if you ever want to attempt it. π
Mine always seem to turn out like bullets so I would be grateful for any assistance π
I’m sure yours aren’t as bad as you say they are! I use the Alton Brown scones recipe; it’s never failed me yet. The recipe is here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/scones-recipe/index.html
The only thing I do differently is that I don’t roll out the dough and then cut into biscuits. I just drop them by full-tablespoonfuls onto the baking sheet. We prefer drop scones than the cut/wedge ones. π
